In the north east section of Algonquin Provincial Park on the road to the Achray Campground is the Barron Canyon, a natural gem and inspiration for a few of Tom Thomson's paintings. After a challenging portage and a paddle upstream from Squirrel rapids, you turn a corner and see the massive rock wall reflected in the water and you feel how tiny you are surrounded by these cliffs.
