The Big Bend in Arrowhead Provincial Park is a prominent glacial river delta with its sandy banks that rise up to 35-meters high, eroded over thousands of years by the Big East River. The river actively carves through this glacial sand deposit, creating a steep, sandy, horseshoe-shaped bend known as an oxbow lake formation that could one day be completely separated from the winding river.
